Career Growth at FA

The Kind of Opportunities You Can Expect at Foundation Academies

How can we maximize our successes to promote future growth and achievement? Our Advancement team asks that question in order to determine how we continue to develop as an organization that continues to impact lives.

We not only get our students to college, but we encourage and support them through college as well. Our College and Career Advisors serve as mentors for our alumni  as they navigate their way to their next milestone: college graduation.

This role allows for teachers to remain in the classroom to do what they love – teach – while stepping into leadership to support and develop others. With a focus on ensuring the long-term sustainability of a content area, the Content Lead serves as a model teacher for the content area, showcasing planning and execution that is student-driven, maintains high engagement, and promotes productive struggle. This role is for teachers who have been with Foundation Academies for a minimum of one year.

Our Data and Assessment team helps our organization thrive. We believe the best way to educate children is to truly know them. In order to know where they are academically, we have to continually collect, analyze, and apply data in a way that promotes student growth. No matter what team you’re on at Foundation Academies, data is a part of everything we do because the more we know, the more we’re able to accomplish.

When you look good, you feel good. And when you feel good, you do good. Our Facilities team is the crew that keep our school communities clean, safe, and reliable spaces that promote student pride and achievement.

Every dollar and cent is recorded and well-spent. Our Finance team is a diligent group of individuals who ensure that every financial action is done by the books, and done with purpose. From our budget to payroll, benefits to fundraising, our Finance team continues to receive a perfect audit from the New Jersey Department of Education.

Our Instructional Deans take on a heightened supervisory role, teaching part-time and supervising a team of six to 10 teachers. Our Instructional Deans are often aspiring principals and take on more of the nuances of staff development, data-driven practices, and school-wide events and initiatives.

Commonly referred to as an “LSC,” the Leader of Student Culture is responsible for promoting positive, safe learning environments and building student and staff morale and behavior intervention systems. The LSC handles day-to-day student concerns, while helping to develop and implement events and programs that build student character and positive behavioral responses and strategies.

We believe that what we do works so well, everyone should know about it! Our Marketing and Communications team not only spreads the news about the great work that we do each day, but they also help draw in support from donors and community partners. With this team work, we see our dream work.

Our Operations team keeps systems and procedures in check so the entire school organization can run as one cohesive unit. This team is essential to both our day-to-day success and our long-term sustainability and achievement.

Our Principals receive monthly, internal professional development in areas of change management, self-care, recruitment, and building the capacity of others. The Senior Leadership Team, which comprises our school Principals, the Chief Academic and Executive Officers, and Director of Training and Development, engages in monthly “walk-throughs” of each campus to gain insight on best practices and shared coaching needs throughout the organization. The Senior Leaders also participate in two off-site leadership retreats each year.

Leading a school requires preparation and development; that’s why we’ve created the Principal-in-Residence position. This unique position provides hands-on coaching and development that begins in the role of Instructional Dean with a trajectory that leads to opening a new school or leading an existing campus.

Good people know how to find good people. Our Talent Recruitment team does just that: seek out quality candidates who can join our team to continue impacting students’ lives and find a sense of FAmily in our school culture.
