FA ‘Senior Signing Day’ June 9 Spotlights Scholar Achievements

Foundation Academies invites the Trenton community to congratulate members of the Class of ’23 as they share future plans and goals with family, friends and faculty during our annual “Senior Signing Day” celebration on June 9, 2022. Donate here to join our community cheering section.
Foundation Academies anticipates 100% college acceptance for all graduating seniors — our ninth class to achieve this milestone since 2015. Our school tradition is for graduating seniors to announce their “next steps” alongside family and friends at Senior Signing Day, a schoolwide event held in FA Collegiate Athletic Center.
“These students are making Trenton proud and proving that hard work pays off,” said Foundation Academies CEO Sheria McRae. “I look forward to staying in touch and cheering their new accomplishments.”
Foundation Academies makes a promise to our scholars from kindergarten to Grade 12, to equip them to excel in learning and empower them to lead purpose-filled lives. For many, next steps include moving on to four-year, or two-year, colleges; others prefer the military, business roles, trade or technology training.
“These seniors have worked relentlessly through many obstacles to reach their goals,” said Collegiate Principal Isabel Goss. “I am very proud of who they are – and who they will become as they continue on their path to a purpose-filled life.”
Foundation Academy Collegiate Class of 2023 includes more than 70 scholars living in Trenton. Graduating seniors have been accepted into colleges or universities including New Jersey Institute of Technology, Rutgers University, Rider University, Stockton University, Rowan College at Burlington County and Mercer County Community College, among others.
FA Senior Signing Day is supported by the nonprofit Friends of Foundation Academies. Community organizations, business owners and residents wishing to congratulate these students may join a “cheering section” and be listed in the Signing Day program for a tax-deductible donation of $100.
Every year, with the help of generous donors, the Friends of FA Knight Fund provides scholarships, persistence grants and emergency support to graduates as they navigate “to and through” college. To date, the fund has committed more than $250,000 to FA grads.
John Salvetta, director of FA College & Career Advising Department, thanked CBIZ Perlman for already stepping forward to support our scholars. “It means so much for our seniors to know the entire community stands behind them as they take the next steps on their journey,” Mr. Salvetta said. “Together, we can provide the resources they need to achieve their goals.”
FA Senior Signing Day is among national College Signing Day events celebrating all students committed to pursuing an education past high school, and part of the effort by former First Lady Michelle Obama through Reach Higher and Better Make Room to inspire students to own their future.
