FAbulous Event Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
What do you get when you combine Frida Khalo, Horchata and pumpkins? A FAbulous event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month!
Thank you to PODER, our Collegiate student club focused on sharing and celebrating Latin culture, for inviting us to paint Khalo inspired pumpkin portraits while sipping on homemade cultural drinks from Latin America, such as Agua Fresca, Agua de Jamaica, a Dominican beverage known as Morir Sonando, and Horchata.
"This is a fun way to highlight the many ways our culture enhances our lives -- through art, food, drink and friendship," said Vianney Anzures, Collegiate Latin Heritage teacher and club sponsor. "PODER is about sharing our culture and showing our pride."
FA also is hosting a community celebration Friday, Oct. 14 from 5:30-7 pm in the Collegiate Athletic Center featuring Latin dance, music, and foods. The event, hosted by PODER, National Honor Society, and UNITY clubs, will honor community Latinio leaders.
We thank our scholars, families, faculty & staff for sharing their rich and vibrant culture every day by just being YOU. #WeAreFA #HispanicHeritage
