FOFA Welcomes Princeton Healthcare Executives to Board

Foundation Academies welcomes Fitzroy Dawkins and Jorgen Hansen as board members of The Friends of Foundation Academies, a nonprofit organization dedicated to attracting donations, program partners and volunteers supporting learning opportunities for our scholars.
FA CEO Sheria McRae looks forward to the expertise these new FOFA members bring to Foundation Academies, Trenton’s free, public charter school serving more than 1,000 scholars k-12.
“Both Fitzroy and Jorgen bring passion, energy and experience to FOFA,” Mrs. McRae said. “FA is making great strides to equip and empower our scholars so they can excel and lead — with their help, we will go further, faster.”

Dr. Fitzroy Dawkins, of Princeton, is a Principal Medical Consultant with Data Revive of the Validant group of companies, a global, full-service life science consulting firm. He is a medical oncologist in the Biotech industry, with more than 17 years of experience leading translational and clinical trials. He also has served as Vice President, Clinical Development at Forma Therapeutics, an Executive Director for Incyte Corporation, and a Director of Clinical Development at Janssen Therapeutics.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from City University of New York and his M.D. from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, NY. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine in Buffalo, and a fellowship in hematology/oncology from George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He was then appointed to Howard University College of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Medicine, and later promoted to Associate Professor, with tenure,where he led the division of hematology/onocology as interim chief.
Dr. Dawkins values the role education plays. “An excellent education is an American equalizer and a path to a better life for people in underserved communities,” he said. “I am honored to be a member of FOFA and support FA’s mission to equip and empower their scholars.”

Jorgen B. Hansen, also of Princeton, is a board member and senior advisor working with several venture or private equity-backed medical device companies. He recently was the Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors, of Ivenix based Boston, MA. Prior to joining Ivenix he was the President and Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors for Cantel Medical.
Prior to joining Cantel, Mr. Hansen held global leadership positions with increasing responsibility in the global medical device industry for more than 20 years including at ConvaTec as Senior Vice President and Coloplast, where he held various leadership roles in Asia and Europe. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Denmark Technical University, and an International Commerce degree from the Copenhagen Business School.
Mr. Hansen said he was inspired by FA’s work. “I am honored to support Foundation Academies in its mission to help empower and prepare their scholars to realize their fullest potential.”
The Friends of Foundation Academies was founded in 2010 to encourage community support of FA. Board members, community members and volunteers support, enhance, and promote learning opportunities for Trenton youth.
Along with the strong leadership of Mrs. McRae, and the FA Board of Trustees, FOFA supports scholars and teachers through scholarships and enrichment activities to broaden horizons, and professional development and wellness programs to reward classroom superheroes.
“Especially during this challenging time in public education, we are grateful to Jorgen, Fitzroy and their fellow Board members for dedicating their time, talent, and resources to this important work,” said FOFA Chair Howie Powers.
Dr. Dawkins and Mr. Hansen join a group of dedicated volunteers, including Howie Powers, Chair; Reid McCarthy, Treasurer; Anthony Klockenbrink, Secretary, Betsy Rendall, Joanna Herrera, and Dwight Green.
