Generous Grant from Janssen Boosts STEM Enrichment at Foundation Academies
Over the past year, The Friends of Foundation Academies, Inc. has received over $10,000 in support from Janssen Pharmaceuticals to enhance STEM programming across our schools. Thanks to their generosity, we can continue to expose our students to a wide range of career paths and encourage a love of science, technology, engineering, and math.
The grant covered the cost of launching virtual STEM clubs at both our Intermediate and Middle Schools during the pandemic and will continue to support these programs as they transition to in-person clubs this school year and beyond. Each week, students gather to explore topics like animation, graphic design, and coding through hands-on activities and student-led projects. They also learn how to use computer software like Python, Replit, Animaker, and Pixton. Check out some of the fantastic student projects below!
Sessions are facilitated by amazing community partners like Mad Science New Jersey and Likeable STEM who guide students through the process. We are so grateful to Janssen Pharmaceuticals for creating this opportunity for our students and believing in our school community. Thank you for making these programs possible!

Krystal Cohen is a member of the Advancement team at Foundation Academies where she aids with fundraising and community outreach efforts. Krystal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Princeton University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Affairs.
