January Newsletter: Our Village SHOWS UP for Our Kids

As cliche as it might sound, it truly takes a village.
Our village–which includes our school, our nonprofit partners, our city, our county, and well beyond–continues to SHOW UP for our kids.
- Our MLK Day of Service event, spearheaded by Middle School staff Shadura Lee and Summiya Abdul-Quddus brought together leaders in our city who are living the vision and message of Dr. King every day.
- On our 100th Day of School, community members participated virtually (or in-person, out in the cold!) to celebrate and honor our students as they marked this important milestone.
- You will also read about our “Growth-Focused Award” winners, presented to staff who are going above and beyond, inside and outside of the classroom, in the spirit of our mission.
- And with the help of so many donors, advisors, and volunteers, we are launching the second offering of Round Table Scholarships, awarded to help FA Seniors persist on their roads “to and through” college.
Thank you for believing in and supporting our “village.” It takes all of us, and we appreciate your support.
