Primary and Intermediate School Spring Concerts Amaze and Delight

Spring is finally upon us, and with it comes one of our favorite times of the year: Spring Concert season! Our scholars have been hard at work all Winter, preparing and rehearsing their vocal and instrumental performances in anticipation of Spring.

On May 22, our Primary School kicked off the concert season. Lead by Primary School Music Teacher Ashleigh Ayers, the chorus of our youngest musicians raised their voices in joyful song to a full house of parents, friends and FAmily.

“Words can not express how proud I am of the performance given by our Primary students,” said Ms. Ayers. “I am in awe of the students that I am thankful to teach, and in awe of our FAP families who packed the gymnasium to standing room only to show their support!”

On June 3, it was our Intermediate School’s time to shine, as our awesome FAmily of supporters filled Villa Victoria’s West Trenton theater to the brim. The 3rd grade chorus lead the evening’s music program with uplifting vocal performances, as directed by 3rd and 4th Grade Music Director Allison Beres.

“Our scholars have worked so hard to get where they are today. Their musical abilities improve every time I hear them play and sing,” beamed Ms. Beres. “I could not be more proud to teach and learn from them.”

Between the choral and orchestral performances, two of our “Foundation’s Got Talent” grade-level talent show winners Sydney Balkcom (5th Grade) and Katie Itzep (4th Grade) performed their winning dance and song to the delight of our audience.

To close the evening, our 4th and 5th grade string orchestras each performed their repertoires skillfully. The 4th grade orchestra was lead by 3rd and 4th Grade Music Director Allison Beres, while 5th grade was directed by 5th Grade Music Director Adam Kowalski. It was clear to all in attendance that our talented students were proud to perform for their families as they visibly beamed with Foundation pride.

“My favorite part of the concert is seeing how excited the kids get to show their families what they can do. Music is a language; our kiddos understand and exemplify that. Seeing how proud they are of themselves and their accomplishments can only be topped by the pride, joy, and excitement of their families,” said Mr. Kowalski. “Sharing in music making with such an amazing group of young musicians is truly my greatest privilege.”

Just two concerts remain for the Spring season: our Collegiate Academy concert on June 13, and our Middle School concert on June 14. We’re wishing our scholars the best as they finish up their final rehearsals in preparation for their big shows.

Congratulations to all of our scholars on their dedication and commitment to their respective music programs. With so much talent across all our schools, we’re already looking forward to next year’s recitals!
