Thank you Mr. Weiss!

Foundation Academies Board of Trustees – past and present – joined with alumni, faculty, families and friends to celebrate and thank CEO Graig Weiss for more than a decade of service to our learning community.

Weiss will be stepping down in July, as current Chief Academic Officer Sheria McRae moves into the leadership role. Weiss and McRae have worked together since 2010 and she shared her heartfelt thanks with those gathered.

“You have a heart for our children and through the window of your heart, I've learned so much,” she said. “Just know that your legacy will continue and the impact that you have made, in Trenton and in the lives of our students over the last 13 years, will remain.”

FA Trustee Todd Kent recalled joining the board as Weiss was stepping in as CEO – a time when FA was only a middle school in a rented building with “sketchy” air conditioning. Kent said the CEO’s steadfast belief in “the right of every child to have a good education” has inspired him throughout the years.

He applauded Weiss for the hard work, vision and perseverance it took to bring FA to where it is today – a high-achieving k-12 school with two campuses owned by the school.

The gathering was part of FA Night at the Trenton Thunder Ballpark, with families, staff and alumni receiving free tickets for the game thanks to the non-profit Friends of Foundation Academies.

Our spotlight began pre-game with a special video presentation recapping our 2021-2022 school year, and then the first pitch was thrown out by Graig Weiss to Sheria McRae! Plus our FA Knight got to hang out with Boomer throughout the night.

What a cool way to start our summer vacation.
