Volunteer Appreciation Spotlight: John Jackson

Volunteer Spotlight: John Jackson

FAmily, we’d like to introduce you to John Jackson, a member of our Leadership Council and volunteer. Recently, we had an opportunity to sit and chat with John to ask him a few key questions about his experience with Foundation Academies.

  1. What do you like most about volunteering with Foundation Academies?
“I think it’s the common sense of purpose that I feel every time I am at Foundation Academies – whether it’s visiting, volunteering, or to attend a school function. Every adult present is there for the benefit of the scholars, and in turn, the scholars know that they have so many great opportunities for success at Foundation Academies.”

  2. Why do you choose to support our school?
“I choose to support Foundation Academies because I think it’s the best return on my investment of time and resources. I think it was Garrison Keillor who said, ‘Nothing you do for children is ever wasted.’ I’ve looked around and I think this is the best place to do that.”

  3. Why do you think others should support Foundation Academies?
“Along with what I expressed in my two previous answers, I like that Foundation Academies strives to ensure that all its scholars and schools are successful. The administration and staff are approachable for questions and discussions to help others. They understand that we become stronger by working together, and that sends a tremendous message out to the world. I think everyone should support that.”

Thank you for your dedication and support, John. We sincerely appreciate you!

John Jackson grew up in Monroe Twp. NJ, and now lives with his wife Laura in Cranbury. John and Laura have 2 adult daughters, Lindsay and Courtney, who are both educators. John is a recently-retired member of Plumber and Pipefitters Local #9 of Central Jersey.
