K-8 Campus Traffic Pattern

Families driving scholars to FA will find a traffic pattern designed to prevent back-ups along State Street that create hazardous driving and walking conditions.

Cars will turn onto Rutgers Place and enter FA using a two-lane driveway. This two-lane campus drive will allow more cars to move along an extended loop stretching behind the new soccer field parallel to Route 29 before merging into a single lane at a traffic gate.

The traffic gate will open just prior to 7:45 a.m. Cars will merge into a single lane, travel through Staff Parking Lot 2, curve right and continue single-file to drop-off/pick-up spots.

Faculty and staff will greet scholars outside school and direct them to the correct entry. Primary and Intermediate scholars will enter through the ramp door. Middle School scholars will enter through the door near the playground.

Families who park and walk scholars to campus should NOT PARK DIRECTLY OUTSIDE THE FRONT ENTRANCE. No parking is allowed on either side of W. State Street across from school to provide space for school buses and safe exits for families leaving campus.

Please park away from FA and walk children to campus.

Monthly School Emails

Beginning in September, FA will be sending monthly emails from school leaders about upcoming events and other news.

Important FA Update will arrive early each month to your email address on file with FA.

The “sender” will be Alma Notifications.

To make sure you don’t miss important school information, please contact the Front Office with your updated contact information.

In addition to a monthly email, principals and teachers will contact you using REMIND text messages.

Parent surveys showed we need to get better at sharing information with you. We hope these steps provide you with information you need in the ways you prefer.

Questions or comments? Please contact Michelle Ruess, FA senior director of marketing and communications.

FA Website Events Calendar

We have a new public calendar on the FA website accessible via Parent Resources, Schools, and What's New tabs at the top of our homepage www.foundationacademies.org

This calendar gives FAmily members a quick reference regarding significant events, and provides the public an overview of our academic year to demonstrate how FA supports and engages with our scholars and families. Users can search the calendar for specific types of events and download events to their own calendars.

**For classroom events and school events, FA families must use the Alma student information system calendar.

Photo Consent Forms

Foundation Academies is proud of our students and likes to share examples of classroom work and school culture on our website and social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

We share scholar photos to highlight their achievements, show the community the quality of education FA provides, attract high-quality staff, and encourage donations to support scholarships and programs. We only use photos with family permission.

This year, we are updating that permission process to empower FA families and students to play a more active role in their social media/digital presence. Families will be asked for permission every school year (no more carry over); and if a family grants permission, students grades 6-12 also will be asked if FA may use photos

2022-23 Photo Consent forms can be completed online using Alma (our student information system) or using this Google Form. https://bit.ly/FAPhotoForm

FA will only use photos of scholars if we have permission from the family for scholars K-5 and from both the family and the student in grades 6-12.

If you have questions or want to discuss FA outreach, please contact Michelle Ruess, FA senior director of marketing and communications.

New COVID Safety Measures

Our goal remains keeping everyone safe and healthy. At this time:

  • Masks are required for all students, staff and visitors to FA campuses.
  • Scholars with a positive COVID test result cannot attend school without permission from a medical provider or FA school nurse.

While federal school guidelines may change, FA must follow state regulations.

We are watching closely and will share updates as soon as possible.

FA Soccer Practice Field

FA can’t wait to cut the ribbon on a turf soccer practice field behind the playground at our K-8 campus!

The field– half a regulation soccer pitch – is designed for Middle School team practice, as well as K-8 gym classes, and recess fun. Construction is underway and should be complete next month.

“This will be a game-changer,” said FA Athletic Director Chris Torino.

College & Career Webpage

From college and career planning to internships, and enrichment programs to financial resources, the College & Career Success Center website will provide information to help FA Collegiate scholars – and alumni – plan and make progress toward their learning and life goals.

The website will be designed and managed by the FA College and Career Department, including John Salvetta, Courtney Agyman and JonBonae Shipman. This team assists current students, their families, and alumni with identifying and pursuing next steps after high school graduation, and making “best match” decisions for their future.

Stay tuned for the website launch coming this fall!
