Teamwork Makes the Dream Work for FA and Trenton Thunder
Foundation Academy loves partnering with our home team Trenton Thunder to create opportunities for our scholars and support our community.
Since 2021, FA has celebrated commencement at the ballpark– with our seniors’ smiling faces up on the jumbotron, creating lifelong happy memories. Thunder mascot Boomer, and his friends, cheer our scholars every year at our 100 Man Welcome. Boomer launched his “Boomer for the People” presidential campaign at Foundation Academy, and Thunder execs invest time coming to our school to personally interview scholars for jobs with their organization.
This year, FA is expanding our partnership with the award-winning MLB Draft League team celebrating its 30th anniversary in Trenton. See Trenton Thunder Press Release
"Foundation Academies believes in the power of community, and we are proud to partner with our home team,” said FA CEO Sheria McRae, a Trenton native who lives in the City. “We look forward to having fun together at the ballpark, and creating new opportunities for our scholars to learn and explore.”
In addition to celebrating our Class of 2024 commencement on their beautiful ballfield, FA will be hosting FAmily back-to-school events at the ballpark and collaborating with TrentonThunder to attract new scholars and supporters.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Foundation Academies,” said Trenton Thunder General Manager Jon Bodnar, who also supports FA as a member of the Friends of Foundation Academies Leadership Council.
“This collaboration allows us to celebrate the achievements of Trenton’s future leaders and provide them with unique and exciting experiences.”
This dynamic partnership fosters a strong connection between the Thunder organization and more than 1,000 future leaders of Trenton enrolled at FA. The collaboration provides a unique platform for Foundation Academies to:
Increase community engagement: Throughout the season, Foundation Academy will have a prominent presence at the ballpark, promoting their academic excellence and attracting talented educators and interested families.
Create lasting memories: The annual FA Family Day in August is a highlight with FA scholars participating in the Thunder's Field of Dreams program, showcasing on-field performances, and throwing the ceremonial first pitch.
Support student achievement: Back-to-school nights and a field trip during the season will provide interactive and inspiring learning experiences for FA scholars.
Career opportunities: FA scholars will have access to a special hiring portal and an interview day on the FA Collegiate campus, fostering career opportunities within the Thunder organization.
“We appreciate the Thunder’s commitment to our scholars,” Mrs. McRae said. “It's vital that the business community invests in the educational system in which they operate.”
